Weird but true! launches new app

Are you an app fanatic? I don't know about you, but we're big fans of apps in our house. Angry Birds, games, fitness and yes, hit me with one of my favorite apps--children's book apps. Since one of my favorite books is National Geographic's Weird But True series, I was pretty excited to find out that there's a Weird But True app that contains all of the fun, wacky, and weird facts you can find in the books.

My six-year old can master and manipulate more apps than I can and Weird But True is one they'll love navigating. This app is a great random fact generator and can be downloaded from the iTunes app store for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.  It's a great addition to the books and gives young readers some amazing interactive features.
With a quick shake, or a simple swipe, young readers and parents will be entertained and educated at the same time. Did you know:

· New Zealand has more sheep… than people. (Baaa!)
· Parachutes were invented before airplanes (Look out below!)
· Honeybees can be trained to detect bombs (Bzzzzz….. BOOM!)
· A sneeze travels 100 mph (Bless you!)
· Some honeybee queens… quack (Duck! It’s a bee!)

What's also cool is that you can save your favorites to show off later, voice your vote on the Weird-o-Meter and see a collection of the weirdest true facts as voted on by the users, and facts can be shared via email.

Have fun fact finding!
