Juniper Berry Book Tour stops here with a book giveaway

Juniper BerryThe Juniper Berry Book Tour kicked off this week and I'm excited to announce that today is the day it stops right here at Lori Calabrese Writes!

Juniper Berry has been dubbed a modern-day fairy tale of terror, temptation, and ways in which it is our choices that make us who we are. Sound like a tempting, book? Well, take it from me, it is!

Juniper Berry is an 11-year old girl, but her life is far from average. She's an only child whose parents happen to be very famous. Think Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie famous. She calls home a mansion, but the gates that keep out adoring fans also seem to imprison Juniper. All Juniper longs for is the companionship and support of her parents like days of old, but lately, she feels very distant from them. Things get interesting as Juniper follows her parents into the woods one night and watches them as they push against the trunk of a tree and disappear. Juniper is determined to find out why her parents keep going to the tree and what she eventually finds is an underworld led by a sinister creature with his eyes sight on stealing souls. When given the opportunity to fulfill her dreams, will Juniper also fall prey to the overlord or will Juniper stay focused on her original mission--being a family once again?

This is one of those books I just couldn't put down and M.P. Kozlowsky has created a world very Tim Burton-esque, which young readers will enjoy diving into. Juniper is an intriguing character who is fearless, determined, and strong, making her someone a reader will cheer on until she achieves her goal of reuniting her family. Certainly, temptation is everywhere we go in life, but not falling into that temptation is the real challenge and Kozlowsly reminds us of that in this dark, mysterious tale.

Don't take my word for it, watch the book trailer...

  3. Books would have to be mine too. I have to turn them into rewards: you can sit down and read after you've cleaned the kitchen, started laundry, etc.

  4. I agree, my biggest temptation is a book, especially one I have been dying to read and is a great price. I guess that explains my rather large library.
