PiBoIdMo is on!

With all of the excitement of The Bug that Plagued the Blogosphere Virtual Book tour, I'm a couple of days late in mentioning PiBoIdMo-- 30 days of inspiration and motivation created for picture book writers. Headed up by children's author Tara Lazar, PiBoIdMo encourages picture book authors to jot down one new picture book concept a day during November. That’s it. You don’t have to write a full manuscript, but if you want to, go ahead. No one’s stopping you!

But there's so much more that comes along with participating. Read guest articles by published authors and illustrators that will serve as your inspiration. And your motivation? Prizes, of course! In addition to having a file full of ideas, you'll also be in the running for some awesome prizes like feedback from literary agents, picture book critiques and original picture book art! Be sure to sign up by November 7th and get those thinking caps on. I don't know about you, but one of the most thrilling aspects of writing a picture book is generating the idea and thinking of all the different ways you can roll with the story.

Happy thinking, everyone!

**Be sure to stop by Ingrid's Notes today for Day 2 of The Bug That Plagued the Blogosphere Virtual Book Tour. If you're a writer, you must be following Ingrid's Notes--her blog is jam packed with conference notes and information you don't want to miss.
