PhotobucketPssssst!! I have a little secret. Promise not to tell anybody? Would you believe, I didn't always think of myself as a writer? In fact, my dream job was to work in television. I was very fortunate to fulfill that dream, but with the birth of my two sons, I realized another dream--to write for children and teens. With two boys at home, I'm fortunate to read TONS of children's books. This is how I've discovered, I can't get enough of them. We make endless trips to the library and read stacks of books and magazines. The books and stories I've read to my children have inspired me to write my own.

We all know reading is an increasingly important skill in society. It's important to lay the foundation for your children as early as possible. Those early years play such a key role in his or her future reading success and you are your child's most important teacher.

Enjoy the time you have curling up with your children and reading them a good book--they'll treasure that time more than anything (and so will you!). Think of the books you read as a child and the memories each one brings. You're creating those memories for your child right now. So after you take a look around, go curl up with a good children's book!
